About 60 students from Engineering UC showed 11 prototypes selected as finalists of the course «Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship» (RIE) which is implemented through a partnership with the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology at UC Berkeley.
This course is part of Engineering 2030, which aims to transform students into sources of innovation in science, technology and entrepreneurship for the economic and productive development of the country.
I really appreciate the effort that professors have put in this course to encourage the development of innovation, entrepreneurship and, at the same time, the country’s progress. Because you, the students, will design the future.
Dean of Engineering UC, Juan Carlos de la Llera, during the ceremony.
Dean De la Llera highlighted that RIE course, guided with the support of teachers from Silicon Valley, aims to test students’ ability to develop high impact ideas for the benefit of society.
The jury was composed of representatives of Endeavor, Start-Up Chile and Engie, plus entrepreneurs of SCET led by its director Ken Singer.
