Development of integrated high-tech discovery infrastructure [P2.S1.P2]

AIM: To create the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building (ISEB) through the development of new infrastructure for very advanced (high-risk) interdisciplinary applied research, by gathering currently scattered high-end equipment in an appropriate cross-disciplinary research center in order to clearly differentiate this Consortium’s capabilities and infrastructure from that of its national and Latin American peers. This building will host applied research initiatives born in the interactions between engineering and other professional careers, as well as all natural and social sciences.

OBJECTIVES:
- Implement an advanced manufacturing laboratory including automation, robotics, microelectronics, and sensors (ARMS)
- Implement an advanced laboratory in Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, and Biomedical Engineering (ABEL)
- Implement an advanced laboratory in Water, Energy, and Materials (WEM)
- Implement a Laboratory in Simulation of Dynamical Systems, High Performance Computing, Uncertainty Quantification, and Advanced Visualization (SHIPCUV)
