Liaison between engineering and innovation centers [P5.S1]

AIM: To develop a set of activities that take advantage of the innovation infrastructure and programs available at both institutions and align the strategies to strengthen the capacities for knowledge transfer through intellectual and industrial property, and technology management.
The activities proposed will consolidate a platform for the development of spin-offs and different sorts of technology businesses, thus creating an effective linkage with the industry, government, and the third sector, and other national and international technology and innovation centers and ecosystems.
The platform should include a social and private entrepreneurship program for students, an early stage enterprise incubation program, a special program for intellectual property, technology transfer, and spin-off generation, and shared space for laboratory, workshop, and co-work spaces with industry and public sector agents.
Furthermore, integrate and articulate projects of the Engineering 2030 plan with current innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives within the two universities and with focus in increasing the liaison with society. UC is to use their recently established Innovation Centre for the sustenance of this liaison between engineering and society, and UTFSM is to substantially increase linkages with industry and the public sector developing new Technology Innovation Center.
